Measure the distance between the inside edges of the frame at the top, middle, and bottom and record these measurements. Once you’ve chosen your blinds, it’s time to start planning the installation. If you’re mounting your bay window blinds outside of the frame, use a bar or spirit level to mark the screw holes evenly. Then, use a drill to pre-drill the screw holes and anchors if necessary.

If you’re mounting your bay window blinds inside the frame, measure each side of the window and add 1 cm to both measurements for extra clearance. Use these marks to mark the position of your brackets on the window frame. If desired, you can also use a pencil to draw straight lines where the headrail will sit and use a spirit level or bar to check your markings are straight before drilling.
