The result was a list of ten outstanding shopping cities that are home to everything from world-famous department stores and malls to unique independent boutiques and renowned flea markets.

Travelers to NYC often come for the shopping alone, with Fifth Avenue a shopper’s paradise complete with luxe department store displays. If you’re on a budget, the East Village is a treasure trove of vintage shops and Brooklyn is famous for its boutique thrift and flea markets.

Despite the stereotypes, LA is actually an outstanding place to shop, from the high-end designer stores on Rodeo Drive to upscale boutiques in West Hollywood and downtown’s Union Square.
